Where do my wallpapers come from?

Wallpaperer gets images from the subreddits enabled in your Preferences. It makes a multireddit of the top 100 posts in past 24 hours from those subreddits and searches that list until it finds an image that has similar dimensions and proportions to your screen.

Will I ever see an explicit image as my wallpaper?

Wallpaperer relies on Reddit’s NSFW tagging to filter explicit images. If an image is tagged as NSFW on Reddit, it will never appear as your wallpaper.

While explicit content slipping through the cracks of Reddit’s NSFW filtering isn’t impossible, it is extremely unlikely, especially if you pull images from popular, actively moderated subreddits.

What if I want explicit images as my wallpaper?

Sorry. In order to comply with App Store policies, the app needs to filter explicit images.

How many people develop Wallpaperer?

Just me. It is a personal project that I work on in my free time.

Why is Wallpaperer free? What’s the catch?

The app used to be paid, but the income it made was negligible and the purpose of the app was never to make money. My goal is to share what I think is a good product and gain development experience along the way.

Where’s the iOS version?

There is none because iOS doesn’t allow apps to set the device’s wallpaper. It could be possible if a future version of iOS adds this capability.

How can I suggest a feature, flag a bug or discuss the app?

Post in the Wallpaperer subreddit or send me an email.
